Dinner in India @ Le Taj, Brunei
































31.03.2011 @ Le Taj Indian Restaurant, Kiulap, Brunei. Dinner in India!! thats what i always say. We never bore with indian food. Its been ages not dinning at Le Taj. Very cozy and comfy restaurant, with a large capacity of space and 5 private rooms for diners. The restaurant little quite tonight i guess, and so we are lucky to get a private room with a view. I think we made quite a good choice of food selection on the menu.

Our food for dinner is a set of Tandoori consist of Tandoori Chicken, Bryani Rice, sauces, papadam & pickles, the portion is enough for 2 person, and follow with 2 giant Garlic Naan and Butter Naan, so fulfilling. Kashmiri Chicken, its a medium spiced dish pan cooked with yogurt fresh cream, ginger and cinnamoon. Side order a Minted Yohurt, freshing taste of minty and creamy yohurt. and a glass of plain and mango lassi.

The food was great! Great dinner experience in Le Taj, India...! :)

Cantonese Cuisine Lunch @ Li Gong, The Empire Hotel Brunei


























02.04.2011 @ Li Gong, The Empire Hotel & Country Club, Brunei. Lunch in China, today as if the restaurant was closed down just for us. Good for deedat freely cruising around by himself.

We have Cantonese cuisine, the Hot & Sour Szechuan Soup, one of my husband's favourite soup, the taste just simply re-freshing with the hot & sour flavour goes with a well cooked prawn & scallop to bite on it at the same time. our 2nd dish is my favourite, the Steamed Cod Fish with homemade Sambal, one of the BEST dish i love among all. I don't mind to have this again and again on my next visits. cos it is so good! Stuffed Fish Maw Minced Prawns Topped with crab meat sauce is one of the premium dish on the table. Another yummy dish of my all time favourite the Salad Prawns with mayonnaise and lastly the Sauteed Fried beef with Hongkong Kailan go so well with rice. Oh...YES!! i almost forgot about the homemade SAMBAL!! wao! the sambal was good!!! don't ever forgot to ask for the sambal. Its the best. .... and Im a rice lover, I can't go anything without rice! :)

22.04.2011 @ Pondok Sari Wangi, Gadong Branch, Brunei. We have been dinning in and out at so many restaurants, but Pondok Sari Wangi hit the TOP chart in our list for now as we keep going back for more! Besides the food variation, the quality is very much in consistency. There are so much new and improved food to try, that i guess we will never have enough with pondok sari wangi.

Everytime when i flip over the menu booklet, my mind was the Daging Iga Penyet Sari Wangi....there's like...nothing else i want to eat. Daging Iga in indonesia means Beef rib. The ribs were sliced so thinly with a meat cutter, later marinated in a special sauce and direct grilled to perfection. imagine all the juices and sweetness from the beef marinated....so delectable and there wasn't any pre-cooked done before grilling, direct fire till done and before served, it is sprinkle with Kremes. Kremes is some sort of crispy floss made from a special mixed batter stir still crispy and dried, dish up and sprinkle on the beef. I will never get enough with the deliciousness of Daging Iga, with any food intro opportunity, I always spread around the good news of this dish. Is like nothing's better than this and you can only get it at Pondok Sari Wangi, how cool is that! Actually, Daging Iga Penyet Sari Wangi is a new dish that PSW recently introduced as well as other meat dishes like Daging Sambel Bajak, Ayam Bakar Wong Solo (wong means people in Solo). Next will try the improved satay! The improved satay using Australian Wagyu beef.

Pondok Sari Wangi is having SEAFOOD Promotion, as for fish, Ikan Bakar Sunda promotion with your choice of white fish, seabass and red snapper. We chose the red snapper, the dish served with a special sauce mango with soya & chili deep. The taste was absolutely flavourful. My husband said to me that the taste reminded him the ikan bakar back home at Bogor with his family, a dish that could bring back some wonderful memories with family is definitely not easy to find! Other than Ikan Bakar promotion, the restaurant is promoting Crab and Soft Sell Crab too. the most popular way of cooking crab is "Ketam Saus Padang" and for soft shell crab, its well known with the " Soft Shell Crab with Salted Egg or Buttered Cereal ". Lastly the Prawn, very wellknown with Udang Gala Bakar and sause Padang, check it out for your next visit to Pondok Sari wangi, the food that will not disappoint you.

My hubby ordered the Nasi Ayam Bakar Wong Solo, its a set dish accompany with sambal, vegy, spicy potato, white rice & the mouth watering ayam bakar. Ayam Bakar is forever delicious!. We also have the new improved Tahu Telur courtesy from Ridwan. Oh my God! it was so shocking good!! the presentation, the texture, the taste, everything was fantastic! I remember the taufu, so soft in the inside and crispy from the outside, and go perfectly with the soya & chili sauce. Can't believe i fall in love again with this dish! will be my new favourite at this restaurant. I will sure go for this Tahu Telur on my next visit.! and lastly end the dinner with ACB courtesy from Ridwan of PSW. All food was superb and so satisfying.

We always feel lucky to have Ridwan the owner around, because he is so entertaining & there is always something new for us to share. Its my privilege to have a short chat with him in person this time. His story has given me a new dimension of confidence in running food & beverage restaurant. His motor to me is " I can do it, so can you". He has been busy with his own business in his entire life and suddenly he was asked to take over the family business empire. To him, it was a big deal, thought his mother has been running so much food outlets in brunei so as in some other countries. Since his successful mother is retiring soon, there is no time to waste and he did take over the business just few months ago.

When he started to get involved into the business, it was quite struggling at time but he managed to handle the hard time and everything starts getting together as he operates. So many thing has been improved. He gets everything improved with a different look, feel, smell and taste from A to Z in staffing, training, food quality and consistency, introducing new dishes on the menu, new cooking method, created a facebook & blog for the business, food promotion and many more to come. Ever since he took over the business, he was managing well and the business restaurant will keep improving in time to come. Not only that he is picking up the business well, in my personal view, he is also a very humble and kind person. I hope his family restaurant business empire will expand wider and achieve greater success in the near future.

I decided to share this beautiful moment of my son to all, because I am happy to capture so many of his funny faces and smiley face.. Its not easy to capture him looking at the camera and playing along while photographing.

Tandoori Naan, Tandoori Chicken, Bryani Rice & Roti Kosong, Penang














Kedai Kopi Yasmeen or Nasi Kendar Yasmeen @ Penang Road, Penang. located beside the famous 24Hours Line Clear Nasi Kendar. so if u happen to find 24 hours line clear Nasi Kendar, you will see Yasmeen just next door. This is happened to us when we were actually looking for the famous 24 hours line clear Nasi Kendar and saw Yasmeen.

We were about to dine at 24 hours Line Clear but something caught our eyes! guess what?! it was the red and juicy tandoori chickens that skewered and hanged deliciously infront our eyes....so we thought to have it a try and decided to have Nasi Kendar for supper later. We ordered Tandoori chicken, tandoori naan, bryani rice and roti kosong. They all look as good as it taste. We went back for the Tandoori 3 days in a roll! believe it or not?

The Tandoori Naan bread is fresh, hot & soft. good to go with the tandoori chicken. The tandoori Naan cooking with a tandoor oven really does make the difference. I seldom see a normal Indian kopi tiam has a tandoor oven, but Yasmeen does. They used the tandoor oven to cook tandoori chicken & naan bread. Tandoor oven is made of clay, simply air dried. the oven throws out a ferocious heat, this bread is traditionally cooked on the side wall of the oven where the heat is only slightly less than in the center. For the tandoori chicken, the chicken was skewered and slowly charcoal burnt and cooked in high temperature to perfection. then the chicken will be reheated once more when you order. Taste so good along with the naan bread, the tandoori chicken served with onion pickles, homemade cilantro sauce, chili sauce & few slices of lemon. thumbs up for the tandoori naan & chicken. the best ever. The roti kosong & bryani rice both delicious too.
